IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL WALKERS - MEMBERS AND GUESTS

NEW WALKERS AND GUESTS – You are welcome to join any of our walks. If after two walks you would like to continue, we ask that you join the Group to comply with the terms of our insurance cover. The annual subscription will bring you four programmes per year, and entitles you to attend the AGM and have a say in how the Group is run.  Although we are affiliated to the Ramblers national organisation, you do not need to belong to the Ramblers in order to join the Group. New walkers will be asked to provide their address, phone number and emergency contact details.

ALL WALKERS – Please make sure you are fit enough to undertake the walk you intend to join. Dress appropriately for the conditions and wear suitable strong footwear. Walkers are reminded that we may encounter long grass, nettles and brambles alongside footpaths which may also be slippery when wet. We generally have a break around the halfway mark so bring along a snack and a drink, e.g. water and a piece of fruit.  Let the leader or designated back marker know if you intend to leave a walk before the end. Please do not walk ahead of the walk leader(s).  We remind you that you walk at your own risk. Dogs are the responsibility of owners and must be kept on a short lead.

For your own and others' safety please read and abide by any advice and guidelines issued by the Group, and the instructions of the walk leader. Though walking is inherently one of the safest outdoor activities, no activity is completely without risk and it is your responsibility to behave sensibly and to minimise the potential for accidents..

CAR SHARING – This is encouraged wherever possible to reduce parking congestion, especially in our small villages and country roads.

  • Walks are usually medium-paced, and fairly flat in this part of Aylesbury Vale, athough stiles, steps and occasional hills will be encountered. Any particular hazards will be mentioned in the programme details.

  • On rare occasions a ramble may be cancelled due to very poor weather conditions that week, or forecast for the day. We notify this by email and on this website, or you are advised to check with the walk leader if in any doubt.

  • Please use the National Grid Refences (or postcodes if provided) for exact meeting places; look on Ordnance Survey maps - Landranger or Explorer -  or type the references into "Google".

  • Please arrive early to park and put on boots etc., and always park considerately, especially in villages.
