Tree issue, Carr Lane
Access restored
Gwen reported a tree problem in this path via the Love Clean Streets app. A reply was received saying the job had been completed but it was still very obstructed. Reference numbers quoted 5473415 and 5473433. On further inspection, the path had been cleared in time for Joan and Audrey's Burscough walk
There have been a few instances recently of footpaths not being reinstated within 14 day after crops are planted or fields are ploughed, as in the photo above. By the time Lancashire Public Rights of Way are able to visit landowners to discuss the matter, the crops have been harvested and there is no longer an issue. PROW advise that in such cases, you can walk the path but you must ensure you stick to the definitive line by using an app or online tracker.
What an upgrade!
West Lancashire Borough Council Parks & Countryside Ranger Service has repaired the steps at the bridge linking Wood Lane (B5195) and Owen's Lane, Haskayne (known as Rabbit Bridge) via FP0803002. The steps give access to the Cheshire Lines path and it's great to see they are now useable again.
