We walk on Weekday mornings only Monday to Friday
We do not have a subscription fee but we ask that walkers buy at least one raffle ticket price 50p on each walk. There are two cash prices drawn by raffle on the walk with the rest of the monies going into club funds for the benefit of our walkers.
We recommend sensible footwear - walking boots or shoes if you have them and also waterproof clothing if the weather is likely to be very wet. A warm hat and gloves are useful for cold days. We recommend a walking pole or stick if it is likely to be muddy or uneven woodland terrain.
Monday walks are approx 2 to 3 hours from the start of the walk.
Tuesday to Friday walks are local and much shorter varying between 1 hour and 1.5 hours.
Ask the walk leader on the day for more information
The Monday walks usually finish at a pub or cafe for lunch (optional)
The shorter Tuesday to Friday walks have a coffee stop at the end of the walk
There is a raffle stop during the walks enabling walkers to have a breather.
You must make this known to the Walk Leader or Back Marker or any other walker immediately.
We provide information regarding the distance, terrain, stiles etc on our quarterly walk programme.
Any updates/changes to our walks are posted on our Facebook site.
If there is a break off point for walkers to leave the walk we will publish this.
All walks are taken at the walkers own risk so if you are unsure you must ask the walk leader for more information if you are unsure.
Yes please search for "Friends of West Leeds Walking Group"
This is a private site so you must send a request to join and answer the three questions shown. We ask these as we have had many people joining in the past who have never shown up for any walks over many months.
Not on Monday walks as there will often be a guide dog with a walker and as a working dog he does not need to be distracted by other dogs.
For the Tuesday to Friday walks you would need to ask the walk leader.
