AGM, followed by the talk.
Why do we have water in the garden? Stephen will explore the types of ponds and water features, where to site them, methods of construction and aquatic plants. Stephen Firth, a four times Gold Medal winner at RHS Chelsea, including Best in Shows, studied landscaping at Merrist Wood College in the late 1970's when “Garden Design” was in its embryonic days. He ran his own business before moving into teaching in the mid 1990's . At Brinsbury College in West Sussex he set up the first garden design programmes, ultmately becoming Head of Horticulture, before joining the staff at Merrist Wood College in 2006. Stephen has lived and worked in New Malden for 50 years and is a member of our Society.
