In this lecture, Sophie Leguil will look at how intrepid explorers contributed to the rich diversity of plants that we grow in our gardens today, and discuss the relevance of plant hunting in the 21st century. With a background in botany, Sophie worked for the charity Plant Heritage, developing National Plant Collections and other conservation projects. She enjoys gardening in a small London courtyard and works as an independent horticultural consultant, writer, botanical tour leader and translator
