Surrey CC Tree Planting

A couple of years ago Surrey County Council announced that they wished to plant 1.2 million trees by 2030 – one for every resident of Surrey.  After lengthy negotiations with them and after rigorous investigation of the verges and the underlying infrastructure, we agreed that 19 new trees would be planted in the SOFRA area.  These are photos of some of the trees in ...

which are already flourishing thanks to the ministrations of some of our SOFRA members in the drier periods of last summer.  We hope you agree that they are a great enhancement to the SOFRA area, reinforcing our wish to retain as much greenery in the community as possible, not just for the aesthetic and environmental appeal, but also for our general wellbeing.  We will continue to pursue our campaign for more trees over the coming months.
