WONDERFUL, HEARTENING NEWS!

From the very start, the Team were mindful of finance. We began with a fund-raising barbecue, and now there was income from ticket sales and the nightly raffle. Where did the money go?

Obviously, there were expenses involved in the production of the show. Lighting, sound, costume, set construction, hire of music, the licence to put the show on, and more, all cost money. We promised from the start to St. Peter's Church that they would not be out of pocket - so we offered the PCC a contribution towards heating costs for our cold-weather rehearsals. But there was money left over.

Once all expenses had been paid, we divided the profit between two local charities:

Children's Hospice South West - Most of us are aware of this wonderful, essential Devon based charity. Every penny raised helps them to make a big difference to children and young people with life-limiting illness, and to their families.

Hospiscare - This local, Exeter based, charity provides an all-encompassing service for people in Devon with a terminal diagnosis. All their services are provided free of charge with the support of the local community. They gave great support to Brenda and John through the difficult time of Brenda's last illness.

The fantastic result was that £1000 was given to each of the two charities!
