Exhibitions at the Museum in the Park
The old Merryweather Manual Machine was used by the Maldon Volunteer Fire Brigade in late Victorian and Edwardian times. It would have likely been used to help tackle the 'Great Fire of Maldon' in the High Street in 1892.
The Time and Tide display reflects how Maldon's position on the Blackwater has shaped its past and how the "Prom" has been used over the years.
A model of Maldon East railway station, opened in 1847 and closed to all rail traffic in 1966 after the Beeching Report. There are photos and artefacts representing Maldon’s railway heritage.

A recreation of a late Victorian parlour.
A display relating to Maldon’s theatre and cinema past, 'Stones, Bones and Old Pots' exhibition shows some local archaeological finds and a display about one of Maldon’s most famous residents Edward Bright - the Fat Man of Maldon.
The industrial past of Maldon and Heybridge with displays and artefacts from two of the biggest companies: John Sadd & Sons Ltd. and E. H. Bentall & Co.
Our Temporary Exhibitions room currently displays "Art Legacies of Maldon". There is also an area for children's arts and craft activities.
