An Introduction to Hampstead Music Club by Charles Lewis and Anna Slavina

Hampstead Music Club was seventy years in 2016, when we had our anniversary concert in our main venue, Burgh House. So, this seemed a good time to tell you who we are and to invite you, singers and instrumentalists of whatever standard (no auditions of any sort required) to come and try us out, hopefully like what you see and hear, and join us, for a small subscription, currently £35 per season from September to July (concessions for full time students and registered unemployed).

We exist to provide a friendly musical environment for singers and instrumentalists to perform solo or in concert with other members.  We are a very useful platform for aspiring professionals to try out new things in a very friendly and appreciative atmosphere while preparing for big exams, recitals etc. Another great benefit of the club is an opportunity to meet likeminded people who love music and performing, to find new friends to make music with. We have members who come from all over London and even from outside London. Come and join us - clean the dust off your instrument if it is hiding somewhere in a storage, clear your throat if you are a singer or come as a listener if you don’t feel ready to perform yet.

We meet on Tuesdays, more often in Burgh House or in other locations around Hampstead and the evenings are normally from 7:30 pm till 9:30 pm.  We also organise masterclasses for different sections of the club and invitational concerts by professional musicians from outside the club.
