F A F

The “FAF”, “Fellowship and Fun” group emerged out of the Tricentenary celebrations of 2016. At that time, a group of parishioners joined together to plan a week of celebrations to commemorate the three-hundred year anniversary of Grimsargh St. Michael’s Church. It was a joyous week of concerts, talks, walks, plays, culminating in a special service of commemoration led by the Bishop of Blackburn, Bishop Julian Henderson, and a buffet lunch in the school.

Following the Tricentenary celebrations, it had become apparent that the stained-glass window above the altar would require urgent attention in the near future, and following the success of the Tricentenary, “FAF’s” focus became raising £10,000 for the Church window’s restoration. Within a couple of years that total had been reached.

However, the focus of the group is not merely fundraising. It is also fellowship and fun. The group is also part of the Church’s Vision plan, growing a connection between our church family and the community and hopefully growing our congregation. Throughout the last few years, the group has organised various events including, Family Quizzes, an Open Gardens afternoon, James’s Car Wash, BBQ’s, Cheese and Wine evenings, Parish Meals and much more.

We enjoy working together, having fun together and making things happen in the local community. If you have new ideas, if you enjoy a challenge, or if you just enjoy having a cup of tea and a chat, we would love to hear from you. Everyone welcome.
