How to Influence Stockport Council's Future Plans

Stockport Council is reviewing and rewriting a number of key development documents commencing this Image result for stockport council summer. These relate not merely to planning but to numerous other topics including the overall quality of our lived environment. We have included below links to the Council site and the timetable for the process. The broadest possible engagement with the process is, we believe, very important.  Too often Councils get away with policies which communities object to because of insufficient engagement or they are simply not aware about the opportunities to have a say.

This also has a bearing for the Peel Moat Open Space proposals, the campaign to stop housing development on site, preserve the playground and develop the site a community green space. But it is broader than just this issue and could set the conditions to support other initiatives such as clean air, school street, preserving green spaces etc. The first link below directs you to a series of mind numbly dull and complex documents, however if lots of people read them it reduces the pain by spreading the load.

To that end, could we ask you to broadcast and share the details of the upcoming consultation? As context for the upcoming consultation setting up and supporting petitions, writing to the Council and posing questions to the Council and Ward Committees are effective options that already exist, and which should be exploited.
