Oedemera nobilis

Also known as the False Oil Beetle, Thick-Legged Flower Beetle or Swollen-Thighed Beetle, this shiny metallic green beetle likes grassy places (including Landport Bottom) visits various flowers  to feed on pollen. It's pictured here on field bindweed in the Dewpond field.  Only the male has the swollen thighs.  Zoe Watson 24/6/2014
