Friends of Street Trees helps to develop a community approach to urban tree planting, management and guardianship.

This is done primarily by engaging residents to help care for the public trees in their own street as well as the wider urban forest.

We are a new organisation, seeking to transform the way that people engage with street trees within the borough.

Some of our inspiration comes from longstanding community group Street Trees For Living and we are very grateful for their advice and support. You might even recognise some of their words within this website.

Friends of Street Trees is a fully independent charity - currently going through the registration process with the Charity Commission.  We communicate regularly with the tree team at Richmond Council to understand their plans for future tree planting.

The Friends of Street Trees team is currently six strong - all volunteers - who have collectively determined to take on the challenge of getting local residents directly with street trees.
