With neither team having won the trophy before, we were guaranteed a new winner, with the more regular winners losing in the earlier rounds.
It was a tight and high scoring game. Strathendrick, skipped by Jane McLaren, had the perfect start with a three in the first end. Shots were then traded with ends going with the hammer for the next 4 ends, to leave Linlithgow trailing 6 - 5 going into the 6th. Linlithgow blanked the 6th, retaining the hammer, and took a 2 in the 7th to take a one shot lead. In the final end, it again went with hammer, with Strathendrick securing the 2 needed to win 8 - 7 and lift the trophy for the first time.
The winning team of Skip Jane McLaren, with daughter Kim McLaren at 3rd, 2nd Fiona Glass and lead Luisella Mosley are pictured below with the trophy. Congratulations to them.
