Bee & Butterfly Garden

Lavender border

Walking through Rose Hill Park West, you will find our bee and butterfly garden opposite Simon's cafe. Our gardening team has transformed this previously neglected patch of ground, which was  covered in bindweed, into a beautiful garden full of perennial shrubs that attract bees and butterflies.

Since planting in April 2021, we have been watering and weeding once or twice a week. We chose to remove the bindweed organically by hand and after a bit of a struggle we are on top of it now. We planted more shrubs in Autumn 2021 with funds from the Neighbourhood Grant.

Plants include Lavender, Sage, Rosemary, Buddleia, Geraniums and Anemones, which are already attracting bees and a variety of butterflies.Come back in the Spring when our 250 daffodil bulbs and 60 Alliums will appear.
