A pretty walk to Tye Green of an hour or so. It can be muddy down by the stream.
Start the walk from Elsenham Post Office and go down Robin Hood Road and over the pedestrian-only level crossing at Fullers End.
Walk along the road, up the hill and turn left at the road junction.
After 100 metres turn right along the signposted footpath and over two stiles.
Continue down the path alongside the hedge until a small stream is reached about 370 metres after the second stile. Just before the stream the hedge finishes.
Cross the line of the hedge to the left and then cross the stream.
Immediately turn left and follow the south bank of the stream for about 300 metres to a junction with a byway.
Turn right and follow the route of the byway through a left then right turn into the hamlet of Tye Green where the byway becomes a road.
Follow the road across the Green to the ‘main’ road beyond.
This will have taken 30 - 40 minutes depending on your speed. You may now either retrace your steps or turn right along Tye Green Road and follow the road back to Fullers End, bearing in mind there is no footway and sometimes not even a verge.
