This walk of 1 hour 5 mins or so is based on the sometime ‘Elsenham Fun Run' course and has its starting point at Elsenham Post Office.
From there walk west along Stansted Road. About 80 metres past Leigh Drive take the gap on the right onto the Spinney and walk up to the bench and then bear left.
As you emerge from the Spinney turn left and then right.
After about 50 metres, look for the yellow arrow waymark sign on the left directing you through the wood.
After about 50 metres bear left, and continue along the wide, straight path through the wood and over the M11 footbridge and keep going along a track past a private house.
At the junction where there is a triangle, turn left onto the bridleway, and follow it to Stansted Road.
Cross over the road and leave the entrance to Park House on your right as you continue downhill along the right of way to the bottom.
Here you turn left before the railway bridge and walk up under the M11 bridge along the footpath, and eventually bear left onto the hard surface of Mill Lane and Rush Lane until you reach Robin Hood Road.
Turn right down the hill and with great care cross the pedestrian level crossing.
After about 25 metres, turn left onto the footpath, leaving the gate to Wood View on your right.
This path can often be difficult due to nettles - so long trousers and a stick are useful.
Go through the gate, under the wooden bridge and through another gate and across a small field.
The path now lies immediately to the right of a wooden fence, initially to the left of a line of trees.
Go through the metal kissing gate and across a field towards a stile to the left of a white outbuilding. Go over this and another stile before emerging into Hall Road where you turn left towards the High Street and The Crown (possible diversion?).
Here you turn left down the High Street and back to the Post Office.
