AMOS - TUCKER

Mrs Lydia Amos lived with her husband George at the Common.  George was a gardener.

Mrs. Annie Tucker was born Annie Rose Divall at Brighton on 8 December 1886.  She married Joseph Tucker at Brighton on 10 September 1910. Presumeably it was his work as a carrier that took him there. At first they lived at Pattens Farm, and then at The Gables where Joseph was a smallholder in addition to his work as a carrier. Their daughter Audrey Annie married William Gordon Lovegrove, and long time residents will remember Audrey and Bill. Audrey served as Clerk to the Parish Council for some years and Bill served as a parish councillor.  Annie was living at Hill Farm when she died in April 1955.
