We have been fundraising since talk of the hospital's closure began in 2016 and had raised £600,000 from prior years by the end of December 2021. Our fundraising events for 2022 have added to that total.

A MEMORAMA OF EVENTS! With much Gratitude to all who organized them, and hosted, and everyone who showed up to contribute. Specifically (most recent listed first)

 The wonderful stallholders at the Christmas Market at Lower Bussow Farm on Sunday 11th December 2022. They gave prizes for us to raffle - bringing in another £516 (tbc). Marvellous!

• Lizzie’s Very Special Christmas Quiz on 9th December raised about £1380. Thanks to all the stalwart quizzers and to the Western for their hospitality.

• Individual donors from 5th July to 20th December £2886. Thank you.

St. Ives Shanty Shout Festival, who selected us as their designated charity this year. On November 25th and 26th, despite wind and rain, shanty singers from all over England drew crowds to 7 venues, (Buir Huis Grand Café • Café Art • Golden Lion • Pilchard Press • The Queens • Western Hotel) where donation buckets raised a fantastic £1459.77. In addition, a painting donated by its creator, Donald MacLeod, was auctioned at The Western Hotel and raised a further £300, making a very grand Grand Total of £1759.77.  

Tir ha Tavas, aka Dave and Dee Brotherton, who on November 18th presented Friends secretary Lynne Isaacs with a cheque for funds raised during gigs over the past year - a generous donation of £650

The winning team of Liz's Quiz on Halloween at the Three Ferrets kindly donated their winnings to our cause: £100

Reignition once again rocked the stage for our benefit on Oct. 30th, with the venue, St. Ives Theatre, kindly donating £100

Our 2nd Online Auction ran from Oct. 28th to Nov. 6th, with items from paintings to jewellry, pottery, clothing, meals, B&B stay -and more - kindly donated by indivuduals and businesses. The total raised, including once again a generous £500 sponsorship by Aspects Holidays, was approx. £3337.86 (exact amount tbc)

Coffee Morning on October 24th was at the Western Hotel, who generously provided the venue for coffee, tea, cake and conversation. With thanks too to Gillian Farrell for organizing, and all the bakers for the delicious sweet treats! Raffles and tombola helped bring the total to £542.  Also received that morning, with much gratitude: 3 personal donations totaling around £300 (exact amount tbc)

Amy Sparkes, who on Oct. 16th ran the Eden Half Marathon (with all those hills!) which she sponsored for our benefit through Just Giving. Amount raised: £775 (figure net of platform fees and % tbc)

Needles & Pins sewing group for the beautiful quilt they made especially for us to raffle. The  draw was at the fashion show (below, Oct. 9th). Total proceeds: around £800 (total tbc)

Rob Blake, one of the models at the fashion show (see below), ran a GoFundMe to bring awareness to the mental health issues of body dysmorhia and social anxiety. To face his own fears and encourage others to do the same, Rob walked the catwalk. A big Bravo for mustering the courage, and much gratitude for donating the funds to our cause. Amount, net of GoFundMe % and fees: £718.65 (exact amount tbc)

The St Ives Harbour Hotel and Spa for hosting our incredible fashion show, and all the wonderful models (including special guest Molly Hocking) who strutted their stuff with a wide variety of fabulous clothing on loan from local stores: a big Thank You to you all, as well as to our compére for the afternoon, Jason Sincock (aka Boy Marjorie) who kept the show going. Tickets for the event raised £1380

Cape Cornwall Singers for their fabulous renditions of traditional Cornish songs on Oct. 7th, serenading us as donation buckets were passed around the Lifeboat Inn - to whom thanks are also owed for the venue! - collecting a grand £130 (exact amount tbc)

Sarah Stevens and her sister Lizzie, who on Sept. 25th ran the Bristol Half Marathon, raising funds on GoFundMe which she kindly donated to us. The amount, net of GoFundMe's % and fees: an amazing £1310.85 (exact amount tbc)

Liz Noall does it again! Thank you Liz for donating from another quiz, on Sept. 18th at the Castle Inn: £25

Hain & Dunn in London: an auction to end all auctions, this whisky event on Sept. 8th at the Melody Whisky Bar, who kindly hosted, was a riot! Music and stories supplied by Tim Hain (great-nephew of Captain Edward), along with a donated copy of his book and a rare whisky to auction, with Colin Dunn's amazing and amusing auctioneering and generous donation of rare bottles, as well as whisky tastings for 2 lucky winners, all raised a gobsmacking £15,530!

Golf Update! We have just had notification of another £1080 for us at the golf club! Apparently this is from players who thought better of facing March's high winds and lashing rain, but sent in their donations anyway. Thank you, generous players all! This brings the grand total for Golf Day (from March 12th) to an incredible £5157!

Amanda Louise Spencer and family for nominating our charity for donations at  her mother, Joan Stinchcombe's funeral. A most touching contribution to our cause, gratefully received from Saint's. The collection raised £65, which Amanda kindly rounded up to total £100

Tregenna Castle for hosting our highlight event on June 10th: The Edward Hain Charity Ball. Tregenna generously donated all food, plus arrival glass of bubbly - and even created an Edward Hain Cocktail for the night, from which a portion of proceeds were added to their donation. Also, a big thank you to Cross Estates for sponsoring The Sandy Acre 7, who kept everyone on their feet; and to all the incredibly generous donors of items for the 'Experiences' auction. Special thanks too to the two main organizers whose vision and hard work pulled this fantastic event together, Angela Walker and Donna Trudgeon. Not to mention everyone who bought tickets and made it such a fabulous night! Wonderful event photos as usual by Gav Goulder. Between the auction (£2800), raffle (£860) and ticket prices, the grand total was £8,737.68 

Tony Farrell for his tour of historic St. Ives on June 7th, which fetched rave reviews from several of the 11 people who joined in. Amount raised: £55 

St. Ives Community Choir for serenading us so beautifully with a lovely Jubilee Concert on Friday, June 3rd, at the Fore St. Methodist Church. The concert was free, with donations taken to benefit our fund amounting to £600. This was added to by funds they'd previously collected, and they presented us with a cheque for an incredible £800! Not only that, they have nominated us as their charity of the year this year, which will possibly bring even more in.

Gav Goulder (once again!) and St Ives Tennis Club, for organizing a Tennis Day on June 2nd to kick off Jubilee Weekend. Court fees and BBQ racked up £418.60 as music was provided by Ann Nicol, Rick Chappell and Natasha Jones. Huge thanks to all, including everyone who helped - and not least the Club, who generously matched the £140 from court time, bringing the total to an amazing £558.60!

Stephen Bassett for a wonderfully generous month-long sale of his paintings which ended on Saturday, 28th May, and Cafe Art St. Ives, who donated the venue and charged no commission, so all proceeds will come to the Project. Stephen also raffled one painting. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Mrs. Enid Stevenson! The amount raised in all was an incredible £1648 

Gav Goulder for his lively presentation on May 27th at the St. Ives Arts Club, who donated the venue at no charge. The event went down a storm and raised £150 at the door, plus £50 in raffle tickets, totalling £200

Ann Nicol for pulling together a group to represent our Project at the St. Ives Food Festival on the weekend of May 13th-15th, and to all who manned (and womaned) our table. Also, St. Ives Archive for their kind loan of a display about the former hospital's history, and Lynne Isaacs for her inspiring talk. The main point was to inform people about the Project, as many didn't know... Mission accomplished! Donations were also made, QR codes scanned... amount raised: £235

Jeremy Sanders for his two Live Art Demonstrations on May 8th and May 12th, with one amazing painting created at each which he kindly raffled on our behalf, fetching an incredible £560

Heather Williams who organized the awesome sponsored walk on Sunday, May 8th, from the Edward Hain to Zennor (and, for most, back again), and all the walkers who participated, with special mention of magnificent 92-year-old Enid, who walked a good deal of it! The walk was expected to raise close to £1,000.00, but in fact raised over double that, at £2036! 

Jo Howard for her fabulous vintage stall with collection of clothing and household items at the St. Ives Craft Markets on Friday, May 6th; and Dan Doyle and Babs for including our Project on this special day and organizing a raffle of items donated from vendors at the market, and last but not least all the vendors who contributed! Raised that day: £305

Julie Day for organizing a spectacular darts tournament, and the Royal British Legion for use of the venue, and the BBQ. Registrations raised £135, raffle £207, BBQ £74, and donations £30, for a grand total of £446

Reignition for their rocking re-launch gig on Saturday, April 30th, and The Western Hotel who hosted them. Also to Gav Goulder for his photographs, and Tony Mason for the video - both stawarts of our events! Amount raised £151.08

St. Austell Brewery for generously donating the venue for our Cream Tea event at the Lifeboat Inn on Thursday, April 28th, and for supplying the scones; and to Roddas Tea for donating jam - and their famous clotted cream! Also to everyone who donated for the raffle and tombola. Well over 40 cream teas were sold, and all told the event raised a yummy £498.

Kizamba with their Afro-Cuban-Caribbean grooves, whose sold-out gig got people to their feet on Saturday, March 26th, raising £74 from the raffle, £276 from the donations bar, and £330 at the door, for a fabulous grand total of £710

Surf House Partygoers on March 25th, who raised £310

Sponsored Toddle Waddle tots and parents from the Barn Day Nursery and St. Erth’s Nursery for their gallant galavant around the field on Tuesday, March 22nd, all the teachers who helped, and The Barn's Just Giving fundraiser which began with a goal of £100 and raised a fantastic £435!

The talented performers who raised the roof in the Singing for the Hain concert on Saturday, March 19th: Molly Hocking, Tim Hain, Russel Hicken, Tayla Notman, Freya Cryer, Jay Bryce and the Celtic Mens Ensemble - and to St Ives Theatre for donating the stage. Tickets, donations and raffle raised over £1635

Charity Golf Day participants - and helpers! - who braved blusters and downpours at West Cornwall Golf Club on Saturday 12th March. It never rains on a golf course, so they say— and weather did not deter the intrepid efforts, both on the course and off, which raised an incredible £3949

The Mermaid for hosting and providing the fabulous food in such a cosy setting, and those who arranged the lunch as well as those who went along and enjoyed it! You raised £926

The Ugly Butterfly for the fundraising lunch that they kindly hosted, raising £2035, plus £220 at the raffle—  an amazing total of £2255

Los Freyamigos, for keeping us all entertained, and The Bierhuis in St. Andrew’s Street for hosting them, and to all who came and supported! Amount raised: £300

Live Karaoke Extravaganza performers The Western Hotel and all who sang their hearts out! Fabulous effort, everyone! You raised £400 

St Ives duo My Perfect Cousin and the St Ives Rugby Club who hosted their gig on Feb. 12th,  which despite cold and rain drew a small crowd who raised us £104.62 … and a €50 note!

All you wonderful people who went to the Feast Day Coffee Morning on 7th February. Our first official event raised an astounding £1300
