Programme of Drymen History Society meetings 2026 - 2027.
All meetings start at 7.30pm within Drymen Village Hall, and are illustrated talks from experienced speakers.
24 September 2026: Murray Pittock. Scotland: the global history, 1603 to the present. On Scotland's global reach.
22 October 2026: Denis Kearns on The Maid of the Loch, where he is a volunteer.
26 November 2026: Drymen and Buchanan in old photographs: slide show presented by myself and Peter Smith.
28 January 2027: Marc Conaghan. Target Clydeside: bombing raids by the Luftwaffe in World War II.
25 February 2027: Hugh Sutherland of the Strathendrick Classic Car Club will give us a talk on Old Scottish cars.
25 March 2027: Anne Gilchrist on the history of schools in the Drymen area.
22 April 2027: Cheese and wine reception at 7 pm, then we are showing a DVD of the Millennium service on Inchcailloch, with children's pageant and barbecue on the beach, all beautifully filmed by Allan Armstrong.
Membership is only £12 per person for all 7 illustrated talks, or £5 per person per talk if you’re not a member.
Your membership also supports Drymen Village Hall, because we rent the lower hall for our meetings.
