Matar Paneer
Ingredients
200-250 gm shop bought paneer cubed
1 cup frozen green peas

2 tbsp oil 2 cardamom pods 1 inch cinnamon 3 cloves garlic chopped 1 inch ginger grated. 1 large onion chopped fine 2 large tomatoes chopped fine. 10 cashew nuts (optional) ½ tsp salt ¾ to 1 tsp chili powder ½ tsp turmeric 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp coriander powder 1 cup water 1 tsp kasuri methi or 1 tbsp dried fenugreek leaves ¼ tsp salt and ½ tsp sugar 4 tbsp cream or yoghurt (optional) |
Cooking Steps
Step 1
Soak the cubed paneer in boiling hot water for 20 minutes. Drain the paneer and shallow fry until light brown.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a pan and add cardamom pods, minced garlic, and grated ginger
Add chopped onions to a pan. Once they turn golden brown, add the chopped tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes are mushy.
Stir in all the spices and mix well, frying for an additional minute. Add the peas and a cup of water, bringing the mixture to a rolling boil.
Step 3
Finally, add the fried paneer along with the salt and sugar mixing everything thoroughly to combine.
Stir in the cream and serve.
