Community Garden – Register Your Interest
The Charterhouse Road Tenants & Residents Association is carrying out a short survey to understand how Southern Housing residents in and around Charterhouse Road would like to use the Community Garden.
The garden has the potential to be a welcoming, peaceful and useful shared space for residents. We would like to explore how it can be used fairly, safely and accessibly, so that more residents have the opportunity to get involved.
We are inviting residents to let us know whether they would be interested in:
-
Growing vegetables, fruit or herbs
-
Planting flowers
-
Having a small growing space or plot
-
Taking part in community gardening days
-
Helping to look after shared communal areas
-
Using the garden as a space for wellbeing, relaxation and community connection
At this stage, this is not a commitment and it does not guarantee that a plot or growing space will be allocated. We are simply gathering residents’ views and assessing current and future interest in the garden.
The information gathered will help the TRA understand how many residents would like to be involved and what support may be needed, such as clearer garden guidance, signage, gardening tools, workshops, communal growing areas or future funding.

The Association has established a resident committee, adopted a constitution and code of conduct, and continues to engage with residents and Southern Housing regarding local priorities and community concerns.
Residents Raise Environmental Concerns Regarding Bin Usage
Residents recently raised concerns regarding the use of newly installed bins across the estate.
The new bins were introduced to support improved hygiene and help reduce issues relating to rodents, flies, and waste smells. CRTRA has encouraged positive community cooperation to help ensure the bins are used appropriately and communal areas remain clean and safe for residents.
