BRIAR ROAD ALLOTMENT HOLDER’S ASSOCIATION

Dear Plot Holders,

Happy New Year Everyone! We hope everyone is keeping warm – Spring is just around the corner….

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Christmas social – it really was nice to see so many of you there.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

SUNDAY 1ST MARCH: SEED SWAP AND TOOL SALE 11am – 1pm

This will be held in the hut. Come along with any unwanted seeds and help yourself to seeds that others bring. Don't be put off if you don't have any seeds to swap, there are always plenty available. There will be refreshments available as well as second hand tools.

RICHMOND SEED SWAP TO BE HELD AT YORK HOUSE: SATURDAY 7TH MARCH

SUNDAY 17TH MAY – PLANT SALE

This is a great way to get plants for your plot. Please put a few extra seeds in when you're getting your planting underway! More details nearer the time.

SITE SHOP: We had hoped to open the old trading hut to provide compost last year, but unfortunately it’s taken a lot longer to clear the space than we’d hoped, and sadly the previous suppliers had stopped trading. We’re hoping to be able to have compost / soil improver available in the not-too-distant future, so thank you to those people who expressed an interest in helping out – once we have delivery dates and an understanding of what we can provide, we’ll be in touch.

WOODY WASTE COLLECTION: Unfortunately, we’re still waiting for confirmation from the council about a woody waste collection. Trials are due to start of the provision of an industrial shredder to dispose of the waste and provide chippings – as soon as we have any further information we’ll let everyone know.

PARKING PASSES: Thanks to those of you that have signed up to use the parking passes for another year – Can we politely request that everyone that takes a pass out of the box writes the details in the books – We realise it can be a bit of a pain, but it helps to know where the passes are if any go missing and also provides data for us as to their usage, which we use to make our case to the council to make sure they continue to provide them at a discounted rate. The passes are a very valuable commodity, and they are costly to replace.

Thanks as always for your continued support.

Kind Regards

BRAHA Committee
