BRIAR ROAD ALLOTMENT HOLDER’S ASSOCIATION

Dear Plot Holders,

We hope you’re all well. The Autumn season is always busy with so much clearing to do.

Some updates:

WOODY WASTE COLLECTION: Council contractors have said they should be with us during the week of the 18th November to collect our woody waste. Please place any woody waste you have on the hardstanding opposite the trading shed before then. A reminder that this pile is for waste that before the bonfire ban would have been burned. It’s not a rubbish collection and the contractors won’t take it if it contains domestic waste or rubbish. There will be another collection in the Spring.

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL / RAFFLE: Sunday 1st December from 11am – 1pm: We hope to see as many of you as possible at our Christmas Social. There will be a raffle, mince pies and mulled wine! We’ll also have tools available for sale, so do come along and say hello.

We’d still be grateful for any items suitable for the raffle – you can leave them in the hut with a note or let one of the committee have them in advance.

WINTER WATER CUTOFF: The water supply is being turned off on Wednesday 13th November to protect the system over the winter. There are several full water barrels around the community hut if needed.

PARKING PASSES: Our parking passes are up for renewal again at the end of November. The cost will be the same as last year at £5 for the year.

Please pay your £5 before the 1st December and we can let you know the new combination for the boxes when it changes.

The easiest way to pay is by bank transfer to our bank account Metro Bank – Sort Code 23-05-80 – Account Number 41856068– please include your name and plot number as the reference. Please also note that if you’re setting up the payment, the account is classed as a business account.

If you don’t wish to pay by bank transfer, you can give your cash to a member of the committee. Or you could leave the money in an envelope in the community hut with your name and plot number – although please let us know as soon as you’ve done it, so the money’s not left there for too long.

CHRISTMAS TABLE DECORATION WORKSHOP - Saturday 14th December: In a change to the Christmas wreath workshops that we’ve run in the hut in previous years, this year Philippa is offering a sustainable Christmas table decoration class on Saturday 14th December. Those interested should contact Pip philippamccabe@gmail.com for further details.

Thanks as always for your continued support.

Kind Regards

BRAHA Committee
