Ninety plus Years of Dancing at Banwood

Whether you’re an experienced dancer, a complete beginner or somewhere in between, there’s a warm welcome waiting for you at Banwood Folk Dance Club.

Dancers laughing

Now celebrating more than 90 years, Banwood is a friendly group that meets weekly to enjoy a variety of folk dances. You can experience everything from Playford through to lively English country dances and American Contras.

We have different callers each week who will walk you through the steps before the dance begins. Don’t worry if you don’t know or can’t remember how to do a ladies chain or California twirl – all will be explained!

With the emphasis firmly on having fun, expect plenty of laughter – especially when things don’t go quite to plan.

Several times a   year we will have live music to dance to and occasional American Suppers

when everyone brings a small contribution to the refreshment break.

Your first visit is free  –

and we hope you’ll enjoy yourself so much you’ll come back for more. You can either join as a member or pay-as-you go – neither will break the bank!

Hope to see you soon.
