In December 2023, we once again descended on Ian A's abode to sample four delicious Islay whiskies.

Islay whiskies tend to be the most devisive amongst whisky drinkers - dividing between those who love and loath peaty whiskies... Experiencing such a diverse spectrum of aromas and tastes however, is of course why we formed WACWAC in the first place..

The four whiskies delicious whiskies were:

Bunnahabhain 12yo, a combination of sherry, bourbon and whisky re-fill casks are chosen to achieve a perfect balance of the characteristic nutty and sherry flavours.

Port Charlotte 10yo, with a subtle aroma of smoke, fudge, vanilla custard, hints of nutmeg, ginger and clove, together with wild thyme, heather and salt.

Caol Ila 12yo, with a palate of oily, tar, elegant smoke and hints of boiled sweets.

Ardbeg Uigeadail, with notes of peat and little flourishes of dark sugar, freshly ground espresso beans, cereal notes and a most sophisticated tar.  It had a sweet, ripe fruit and black forest honey palate.
