If you are interested in volunteering with us we would love to hear from you.

 

Volunteering can help you meet new people, connect you with your local community, gain new skills and improve your mental and physical wellbeing. 

Whether you are just looking to fill some spare time or enhance your confidence to get you into future paid work, it offers you the chance to give something back.

 

You do not have to be qualified in any way, but if you feel that you can offer any of the following skills then please contact us:

• General office and administrative work • Good communication & customer skills

• Confidential when dealing with sensitive information • Computer Literate • Publicity

• Trustworthy in dealing with money • Funding applications • Social media knowledge

• Responsible, especially if required to work alone for any period of time

• Cleaning & maintenance of equipment • Bookkeeping & Accounts

• Collection & delivery of equipment

(e.g from office to storeroom, certain areas of the town centre (if required) or to and from the Bus Station

 

Yeovil ShopMobility are flexible on days and hours worked by volunteers. mornings, afternoons or full days are offered.

  • An application form will be completed
  • We will review your application and invite you in for an informal chat
  • If your application is successful we will contact you by email and/or telephone

If you are offered a voluntary role you will be required to:

  • Provide your full details for a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Provide names and contact details of two referees (e.g your previous employer and one personal referee, NOT a relative)

Complete some basic training, including reaching a full understanding of our policies, procedures and:-

  • Safeguarding 
  • Equality and Diversity 
  • Data Protection
