Whitehall Park Supporters Group are proud to invite many external community groups who use the park. Whitehall Park has many useful areas for groups to run their sessions. Here are some community/volunteer groups who currently use the park for their own community sessions/activities and events.
There are many external groups who use the park and those who do so on a regular basis are -
- Little Potting Club, a free childrens gardening and nature club use the parks community veg garden and cabin. They run projects within the park and plant flowers for the wider park commnity to enjoy.
- Talk Ourselves Well a free mens talking and welbeing group who use the parks outdoor learning areas, green spaces and cabin. They help with park maintence and took on the massive job of cleaning the Lightbown Fountain back in 2022.
- SPARKS, a recovery charity based in Blackburn use the parks community veg garden and cabin. They help with volunteer groups and offer support within the local community.
- Whitehall Scouts and Cubs use the parks green spaces and cabin.
- Freyas Rocks, a baby loss awarenss group run community events, rock finding trails and help to improve the rose garden.
- Friends of Darwen Cemetery is a volunteer group who look after the cemetery and its green spaces. FoDC use the parks cabin once a month for their meetings and afternoon tea. They also organise a free bat walk every year starting off in parks the rose garden.
- Probation Services community payback scheme participants, help to maintain and improve the park and its green spaces.
