After many years in the corporate environment I now concentrate my focus entirely within the VCSE  using and transferring all my skills to work as a Trustee and operational volunteer with many different charities to help make a difference, specifically around strategy and process optimisation, fundraising but will turn my hand to most things as long as it will make a positive difference.

I specifically selected VAAC to become a trustee as they support many charities and CICs so you feel you are not only making a difference to VAAC but to all of their members indirectly. I am also the VAAC ambassador for accessibility championing for a better understanding of the disabled community and for better and safer access everywhere.
However, |I am also a volunteer for Canine Partners both as a fosterer for their amazing assistance dogs, but also doing fundraising to help the training of more dogs to transform and give independence to physically disabled people. I love the outdoors and gardening, so I am also a gardening volunteer at the beautiful West Dean Gardens

I have a busy life with all my volunteering, but it keeps me energised, plus I am continuously learning so much about how the charity sector works and how important and vital volunteers are to its success. The added bonus I get to meet wonderful people (and dogs!) and its far better than sitting in front of the TV.DNKH3396.JPG
