Clackmannanshire residents are invited to make nominations to their community councils this month.
There are. 16 places available on Alloa Community Council; 14 places each on Alva, Clackmannan, Dollar, Menstrie, Sauchie & Fishcross, and Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton & Devonside Community Councils; and 12 places on Muckhart Community Council.
If we don't get the required communitry councillors we can't be a community council. That would mean a big loss to Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside.
TCD Community Council needs new members.
Community Council elections are happening now.
Without new members we will not be able to continue.
We will lose access to funding for events e.g., our gala day, Christmas lights, micro grant funding which has supported many groups over the years.
Over the last few years the community council has received funding from EDF for the Christmas lights and community events. We have supported the Mill Glen Action Group, and others
All this will stop if we not have a Community Council.
The closing date for nominations is 4pm on Thursday, 21 August.
