In August 2021, our local MP organised an event at Tamworth's main parish church, St Edithas, where senior citizens were invited to pop in and have a chat to all sorts of local groups, clubs and organisations who might be able to help them out with any difficulties, even just loneliness.
The Peel Society were there, including our brand new 1920s Policewoman, and joined with officers from the local police to provide reassurance that help,advice or just company if needed, is there. We also took the opportunity to pass out details of what the Peel Society does, and that we always welcome new members.
The event proved a huge success. Lots of new contacts made and many seeds for future collaborative working were sown.
