Since SSRA was founded in 2019, we've set out to work closely where appropriate with other local groups, ward councillors and Council departments for the wider benefit of the Norbiton and Kingston.
Councillor comments:
- Speaking of SSRA, Cllr Ryder-Mills said: "they have been during Covid a source of a lot of support for some of the initiatives going on on the Cambridge Road Estate, which is nearby as well. They are a fairly tight organisation in my opinion."
- Cllr Wehring described us as "a fledgling residents' assocation in Norbiton looking to do good things in the local area."
Local thanks:
- In April 2021 fellow Norbiton community groups One Norbiton and CREst awarded SSRA a commendation certificate for 2020/21 to thank its members for helping support the Tuesday Lunch Group and pop-up pandemic food bank.
- CREst also thanked SSRA volunteers in an interview with Kingston Nub News about the Piper Hall food bank initiative.
- In August 2023 Kingston Council used SSRA as an example of successful play street activity and quoted participants here.
- In Autumn 2023 SSRA helped inspire a new community beer at the Park Brewery.
