Boningale Development Update
Planning Inspectorate Ref: APP/L3245/W/25/3362414
The Appellant (Boningale) has requested an Inquiry is undertaken regarding the 70 proposed homes just outside the village border.
The Inquiry took place starting on 20th October 2025 and we are awaiting a site visit on the 4th November 2025.
The planning application from the developer, Boningale Homes is on the Shropshire Council website with planning reference 24/04176/FUL. 140 objections from the public were received, thank you to everyone for taking the time. We had a public meeting and a number of drop-in sessions organised at the Village Hall to help people respond to the plans (November-December 2024).
October 2025 - Newsletter Updates
Richard Thomson (Parish Council rep) sent the following update on 27th October 2025 by email:
The formal inquiry is almost over apart from the site visit by the independent inspector which will take place on Tesday 4th November starting at the village hall at 10am, and a final discussion in the Guild Hall the same day. Every one is welcome to show opposition to Boningale, but the inspector will not be able to talk to anyone as the inquiry is over, and the purpose of the visit is to allow him to actually see for himself where the site is and to therefore help inform his decision. The decision, we have been told can take up to 6 months.
