South London Sinfonia is now recruiting new members for the Autumn term, particularly violas and violins.​

​Since it was founded, South London Sinfonia has allowed enthusiastic amateurs with a range of abilities to enjoy making music together. ​

​

There is no audition, but players need to be a minimum of Grade 5 standard. The orchestra has played a wide variety of music in recent years, including Beethoven’s ‘Eroica’ Symphony No.3, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor with rising star Sharon Zhou, Schumann Cello Concerto with Leo Popplewell (Co-principal London Mozart Players) and Bruch Violin concerto no. 1 with Basil Alter (finalist in the Croydon Concerto competition)​

The SummerTerm's repertoire will be an exciting programme: Respighi Ancient Airs and Dances, Clara Schumann Piano Concerto (with soloist Catherine Chang) and Beethoven's iconic Pastoral symphony (no. 6).
