The South London Sinfonia is a friendly community orchestra based in Addiscombe, Croydon.
SLS began in 1927 - so we are nearly 100 years old! Since then, the orchestra has allowed enthusiastic amateurs with a range of abilities to make music together. We have been rehearsing at St Mildred's Church in Addiscombe since 1965.
Musical Director (from September 2024): Christopher Braime.
Christopher formerly lived in Addiscombe and has extensive experience of a variety of different orchestras, choirs, wind bands, Opera and music teaching.
Leader Brooke Day has recently joined us. Brooke has extensive experience teaching and performing around the UK
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings 7:45 pm - 9:45 pm. We have a break in the middle where we have tea/coffee and CAKE (usually home made provided by members of the orchestra)!
We are a registered charity and our charity number is 1181893
