Welcome pack
We are the venue for much of the community life in the village and we are always looking for ways encouraging people to get involved. Every newcomer to the village receives a Welcome to Shearsby booklet outlining all the different things going on across the whole village.
Improvements
We are always looking for ways of improving the Village Hall. We particularly look for things that make using the Hall easiers for hirers. We also hope that the changes we make will lower our carbon footprint and make the Hall more sustainable in the long run. Since 2024 we have:
- Installed LED strip lights, making the main hall brighter for less power consumption
- Changed the spot lights for dimmable LEDs
- Made the lights in the store cupboards and toilets turn on and off automatically
- Changed the locks on the toilet doors so that they are easier to use
- Put a child-proof catch on the cleaning materials cupboard
- Brought in a USB powered igniter for the gas cooker
