History

The Village Hall has played a key part in village life since 1861

The Village Hall was built in 1861 as the school for the village and outside school hours was the venue for community meetings. Hundreds of children had their education there until 1937. It was for a time run as the Church Hall, but in the 1990s was bought by the village itself to be extended, refurbished and re-opened as the Village Hall in 1996. Since then it has been responding to the needs of the village and holding a place at the centre of village life.
