Hi, and Welcome to Phoenix Access for all Disabilities
Hello my name is Martyn Ellacott,
Welcome to this new website put together as an information site for many subjects around disability.
I was previously the Chairman of Wandsworth Access Association for 5+ years, and within this time I did many campaigns around disability my first campaign in Wandsworth was to the Management of Southside shopping Centre, in Wandsworth for seating to be placed within Southside, other campaigns can be found in the local Guardian’s website archive (search under Wandsworth Access Association.)
I am an experienced Disability Access Auditor; I have worked with Wandsworth Borough Council accessing newly built or newly refurbished buildings as part of my duties as chairman of WAA for their Design and Access Awards.
I received an award certificate from the Guide dogs for the Blind Association for collecting a large amount of used postage stamps for fund raising for the Guide dogs for the Blind Association.
I have also collected used unwanted reading glasses, for Vision Aid Overseas; these glasses are cleaned and graded and then given to people from the third-world to use.
I have been campaigning for awareness for both types of Diabetes (type 1 and type 2 elderly and dietary controlled;) especially Paediatric Diabetes, after learning my child was diagnosed with Diabetes type 1; then myself being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
My team and I each received the Wandsworth Community Mayor’s Award for Volunteering.
I hope you will help me to campaign to help disabled people around the world gain a voice and be heard, to live a better life.
