The North West Pensioners Association promotes the welfare and interests of pensioners, retired people, and the needs of their families in the North West of England.
This website is designed to show what we try to do to improve the lives and living standards of pensioners in the North West. We cover Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Merseyside. At our meetings we discuss vital issues that affect pensioners today. We are affiliated to the National Pensioners' Convention (NPC), End Social Care Disgrace, NHS Campaigns Together, and Fuel Poverty Action. We work with these groups and campaign on issues such as pensions, health and care services, public transport, housing, fuel costs, pensioners' rights, mental health, and loneliness.
We meet on the last Friday of each month (except in December) and move the meetings between Manchester and Liverpool to try to include as many members as possible. The meetings start at 12.30 and last until around 14.30 and are held both in person and online. The Executive meets 30 minutes before the monthly meeting and is open to any member to attend but not to contribute. See the Calendar page for the dates and venues of meetings for 2024. We are a delegate body and membership is open to organisations such as local pensioners groups, trade union branches, etc. The affiliation fee is £25.00 per year and affiliates can send two delegates to the NWPA monthly meetings. Membership is also open to individuals for a subscription fee of £25.00 per year. You can download an affiliation/subscription form from the Files page.
You will be warmly welcome at all our meetings. Don't sit at home wondering what we can do. Join us and campaign for a better life for pensioners in the North West.
