"What is it to be good?"

Tuesday 05 February 2013
18:00 to 19:30

The origin of this question lies in the philosophy of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, whose work illuminates some deficiencies in subsequent modern theories as well as forming a foundation for contemporary ethics. Stuart Devall leads the discussion with the aim of exploring these issues with everyone invited to participate.

Stuart lives locally and is is a regular Kingston Philosophy Cafe participant. He has taught Philosophy to post-graduate, undergraduate and 'A' level students for the University of London, sixth form colleges and - in recent years-  the Open University. He first  experienced  a philosophy cafe where it began - and still thrives - in Paris -  and was delighted when Kingston Philosophy Cafe started in 2008 at the Rose Theatre.

All are welcome. Bridges evening entrance from Kingston riverside, next to The Gazebo pub. Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.00pm prompt start. Free, but be prepared to buy refreshments; donations towards our costs welcome.
