Philosophy in the Workplace
Wednesday 17 October 2012
19:00 to 21:00
There has never been a more apt time than now, given the current situation that the international financial markets and global economy are in, to discuss the role of philosophy and the applicability of time-honoured principles, such as service and reciprocity, to the business community. Debates such as these rarely get as much public profile as those around profit, upon which the margins of “success” in the commercial world are based. Monica Booth will lead a discussion on whether there is a place for concepts such as “truth”, “virtues” and “wisdom” in our working practices, whether there are any benefits to applying them, and will also examine some of the work done in these areas to date.
