"Why should we act morally anyway?"
Wednesday 20 June 2012
19:00 to 21:00
Philosophers talk at length about what is good and what the right things to do are. We talk about practical issues like abortion and vegetarianism, and we talk about theoretical ideas likes rights and responsibilities. Almost all these discussions presuppose that we ought to take account of other people, that we should be moral. Mat Czaczkes will be exploring whether there are any reasons why other people matter, and some of the consequences if we don't find an answer to this.
