Can Computers Create?

At 19:00 Barrie Selwyn and Jeremy Smithers will speak against and for the idea that computers can be genuinely creative.

Artificial intelligence can now routinely generate work that is novel in the sense that it has not been produced before.  But is this really just 'more of the same' i.e. entirely derivative of the data it has been unwittingly trained upon, or true originality? What are novelty and creativity anyway?
