Kingston Philosophy Café

Our first meeting will be a discussion on "What is Philosophy?" led by Barrie Selwyn, Principal of Kingston Adult Education, and chaired by Marilyn Mason, organiser of the Philosophy Cafe. This seems a good place to start and it will give an idea of the possible scope of future discussions and, as it will involve thinking a bit about definitions, will lead fairly naturally on to our second topic "Is it Art?". This first meeting will probably be in the Studio. Come along a bit early to buy a drink at the Rose bar before the discussion begins. We are guests of the Theatre, and need fit in with the Theatre programme, beginning our discussions when plays begin, taking breaks during intervals, and being careful not to become too noisy during performances.
