Volunteer Daytime Show Researcher
Role Title: Volunteer Daytime Show Researcher
Location: Hybrid (Remote Prep / Studio Collaboration)
Commitment: 2–3 hours per week (Flexible prep hours, leading up to daytime broadcasts)
About the Role:
A great daytime radio show needs great substance, and that starts with the facts. We are looking for inquisitive, community-minded Volunteer Daytime Show Researchers to feed our live broadcast engine. This role is built entirely on teamwork. You will act as the crucial content spine for the daytime team, translating what's happening on our streets into broadcast-ready talking points. You will work side-by-side with Daytime Presenters, Volunteer Weather Reporters, and our Community Liaison to ensure that whatever is spoken on air is accurate, fresh, and deeply relevant to our local South Birmingham listeners.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research local events, positive community news, and South Birmingham success stories happening during the day.
- Pull together background notes, fun facts, and talking points for the Daytime Presenter to use naturally on air.
- Pre-vet and brief local charity representatives or community guests who are scheduled to be interviewed on the daytime show.
- Feed breaking local traffic updates, library event shifts, or urgent notices directly to the Daytime Show Producer.
- Maintain a shared, organized digital document of show notes so the entire studio team is always on the same page.
What We Are Looking For:
- Curious, organized, and loves digging up interesting local stories or helpful community notices.
- A highly collaborative spirit who loves setting up their teammates (the presenters) to look and sound amazing on air.
- Clear written communication skills to present research notes simply and cleanly.
- A proactive mindset—someone who enjoys tracking down local happenings before they pop up on standard news feeds.
