Volunteer Fundraising, Events & Engagement Cheerleader
Role Title: Volunteer Fundraising, Events & Engagement Cheerleader
Location: Hybrid (Remote Planning / South Birmingham Event Venues)
Commitment: 2–3 hours per week (flexible planning, plus occasional weekend event days)
About the Role:
At Hope Radio Brum, we believe that raising awareness and vital pennies for the station should be loud, fun, and deeply community-minded! We are seeking creative, energetic individuals to join our Events & Fundraising Team. This role is all about collective teamwork, action, and people-power. You won't be tucked away filling out complex financial paperwork; instead, you will be brainstorming fun public ideas, spreading the word to get new volunteers through our doors, and bringing the energy to the streets of South Birmingham—whether that means shaking a donation bucket at a local supermarket or being a high-vis steward at a community fun run.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Brainstorm collaboratively with the Events Team to come up with exciting, grassroots fundraising ideas (like local pub quizzes, community raffles, or open mic nights).
  • Act as a proud ambassador for Hope Radio Brum, chatting with local residents at events to encourage them to get involved as listeners, participants, or new volunteers.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Community Liaison & Outreach Coordinator to promote station events to local schools, running clubs, and community hubs.
  • Provide vital on-the-ground support at station-led fundraisers—acting as a friendly steward, managing registration tables, or helping set up event gazebos.
  • Partner with the Social Media Assistants to capture fun photos and videos during events to show the online community what our team is up to.
What We Are Looking For:
  • An enthusiastic, "people person" who thrives in a team environment and loves bringing communities together.
  • Full of creative ideas for fun, accessible activities that get everyday families excited to participate.
  • Comfortable being out and about in South Birmingham, representing the station with a warm and positive attitude.
  • Reliable, hands-on, and ready to roll up your sleeves alongside fellow volunteers on event days.
