Role Title: Volunteer Station Receptionist & Front of House

Location: Birmingham Studio (Druids Heath Library)

Commitment: 2–4 hours per week (aligned with live show times)

About the Role:

First impressions matter, and as our Volunteer Station Receptionist, you will be the warm, welcoming face of Hope Radio Brum. Operating from our hub at Druids Heath Library, you will ensure that every visitor, guest, and team member feels valued from the moment they step through our doors. Beyond providing a friendly welcome, you will hold a vital operational role—acting as the station’s health and safety anchor, managing our physical scheduling diary, and seamlessly connecting arriving guests with our live on-air production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet all arriving studio guests, offer them refreshments, and ensure they feel comfortable before their interview.
• Maintain station security and compliance by ensuring all volunteers, staff, and external visitors sign the official visitor book upon arrival.
• Immediately notify the relevant Volunteer Radio Show Producer when their scheduled guest has arrived so the show team can prepare to bring them into the studio.
• Manage the physical Station Diary—a shared, open book used by all staff to log upcoming studio usage, meetings, and key station dates.
• Act as the designated keeper of the station’s First Aid Box and Accident Book, ensuring health and safety logs are accurately maintained.
