August Bank Holiday Monday saw a few of the Friends armed with rakes and plastic bags in order to clear the grass cuttings after Greenspace had brought their machinery down to cut our very overgrown park. We welcomed new members along and managed to clear a considerable amount before running out of sacks to put the cuttings in, and there was a LOT! Unfortunately it had rained the day before so our task was made harder, we will - weather permitting - be doing it all again on Saturday 1 September from around 3.00.p.m. if you can spare an hour (ish) please do join us, if you can, bring a rake and gardening gloves. Greenspace are providing heavy duty bags for us, and hopefully will also take them away. Watch this space for news of the first stage of work to create the Nature Reserve and how Friends can get involved..........
