Here you can see that the storage area above the Playgroup's cupboard and the Sports Hall cupboard was accessed by ladder.  It soon became apparent that installing a suspended ceiling above the Small Hall would be necessary to prevent expensive heat rising into the roof.  Also a door was later inserted into the Sports Hall cupboard from the Small Hall, so tables and chairs could be reached without disturbing any sports activity that might be taking place. Other later improvements were the replacement of the folding doors and replacement of the sports hall and small hall floors with special sports surface florring.
