The Robsons lived at Willis Farm.  Robert b. Thorneyburn, Northumberland 26 February 1879 was a lecturer and advisor in agricultural biology, employed by Essex County Council. His wife Mary Elizabeth, nee Barmby, was born at Scarborough on 27 July 1882. They married at Scarborough in 1909.

Margaret was the eldest of their children and was born in Chelmsford on 30 March 1910. She married George H.E. Cox at East Hanningfield on 25 June 1936, and moved to Rayne Rd, Braintree.

Their second child was Barbara Moscrop who was born at Chelmsford 2 June 1912. 

The family then moved to the Green at Writtle where Eleanor, b. 4 October 1918, and Winifred b. 5 September 1922, were born.
