Crab Curry (Shek-Shek)

Ingredients
4-6 small crabs

For masala
1 tblsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp mustard
2” piece ginger
3 flakes garlic
½ tsp turmeric powder
10 dried red chilies
½ coconut ground fine (or fine desiccated)
½ coconut juice
1 large onion - choppeTamarind water – do not use Vinegar

Cooking Steps
  1. Grind all the masala ingredients together to a fine paste
  2. Chop an onion very finely and season with 2 or 3 flakes of garlic. Fry well.
  3. Add the masala and fry for a few minutes. Add sufficient water to make a thin curry. 
  4. Add crabs and cook for 40-60 mins on a slow fire.

 

Serve with plain boiled rice
